Preere Yibowei is a versatile theatre
arts graduate of the University of Ibadan, specialized in different genres of
dances spanning 11years of dance
experiences.
She has been privileged to work with
the very best in the dance industry. For traditional & African dances she
tutored under Gong-beats arts, one of the best African dance groups in the
country.
While she was under their wings, she
worked with the National Troupe as a guest artist, during the inauguration of
the first democratic Ruler of Nigeria, His Excellency Olusegun Obasanjo
Preere’s dancing career made an historic
mark as a dancer in the opening ceremony of the all African games held in
Nigeria, Abuja (COJA). Where she was privileged to work with Peter Badejo, a
Veteran dancer recognised by Queen Elizabeth.
She had the privilege of attending
several contemporary dance workshops with foreign choreographers from around
the world like Heddy Malem from France, Ketty Noel from Mali, Valerie from Europe,
just to mention a few of the choreographers brought in by the French Cultural Centre
to celebrate the festival “Dance meets
Dance “a Contemporary Dance Festival that’s been ongoing for over ten years
and Preere has been fully involved with this festival till date.
Her contemporary Dance Pieces include.....”Rhythm
of our life”, “Speaking back”, “Plight of the African woman”, “Undecided.”
For improvement of skills and techniques
of the Contemporary Dance Style, she embarked on a two months trip to Bakomo in
Mail for a workshop on African contemporary dances.
She worked with Joke Silva, teaching
dances in notable schools like Corona and Grange for 2years. (2006 - 2007) She has
held the position of the dance and drama co-ordinator at a non-governmental
association called the Ovie Brume Youth Centre for 2years.
She participated as an instructor with
the Action Health Incorporation talent Development Programme 2008 and most
recently co-ordinated the dance segment at the green spring Christmas concert
2010.
The dawn of dance reality shows
began. And Preere was invited on the first season of Maltina Dance All as a Judge.
In 2008 she was invited as a Dance Consultant by the Ministry of Tourism and
Arts Niger State for NAFEST 2008 and in that same year Preere was invited to
the “Koko mansion” as a Cultural/Dance Facilitator.
Preere contested in the MNET dance show
‘Let’s Dance’. And finished the competition as the 2nd runner up.
That same year she was invited on “the
Peak Talent Show” as a Choreographer and Performance Co-ordinator.2010 she worked
as Jeffery Daniel’s assistant to Choreograph the Beauty Queens in MGBN’s most
beautiful girl in Nigeria and has till date worked as the Dance Choreographer

Bay-side owned by His Excellency Donald Duke for the Calabar Christmas carnival
from2008 till date.
In 2010, Rivers state ministry of
arts and tourism invited her in as the dance co-ordinated of the carnival.
The Ajumogobia Christmas Concert,
usually held every year as a Fund Raiser for the less privileged. Preere is currently
the dance co-ordinator.
She runs her own company NITCHE
ENTERTAINMENT where she teaches dance of all genres.
Most recently achieved a cross
cultural exchange programme between traditional dancing and Bollywood held in
India in the year 2011.
